How is PFAS reduced?

According to an article by the Water Quality Association, “Water treatment technologies that have been independently tested to show that they are capable of reducing PFAS from drinking water in your home include activated carbon filtration, reverse osmosis (RO), and anion exchange treatment.”

They go on to say, “Product Certification, which goes beyond independent testing of each manufacturer’s product, provides an additional level of assurance to consumers who want protection from PFAS. During the process the Certification Body reviews confidential information on how and where the product is built and labeled and who the suppliers are for each material or component; conducts regular factory audits to ensure the product is not changed without authorization or retesting; reviews product packaging and labeling to ensure that important information is conveyed to consumers; and conducts additional testing to ensure that the products are made with materials that will not leach harmful chemicals into the water and that will not develop leaks due to pressure spikes. Currently, product certification is available only for carbon filtration products and reverse osmosis systems because no standard has been written yet for products that reduce PFAS using anion-exchange technology.”

We had not had our water filtration checked for well over a year as the company that installed it had gone out of business without ANY NOTIFICATION and we had no idea who to contact for service. After searching on Google Elder's Pure Water out of Aledo, Texas showed to service our area and I called to schedule an appointment.

Grayson from Elder's Pure Water arrived early for our appointment. He was very polite and professional and checked out our water purification system for any issues, replaced the filters and added our salt to the system. He removed the main tank and repressurized it, something we didn't know was a requirement. Grayson worked dilligently and had everything taken care of in short time. The cost was very reasonable and we WILL USE THEM AGAIN! If you need assistance/maintenance with your water purification system, please give Elder's Pure Water company a call! YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED! If you're lucky, you'll have Grayson for your technician! For real, I don't know how many technicians they have, but feel sure they're ALL very professional & capable!
